Dust control in confined spaces

One of the important issues on safety is to keep the site clean and healthy and to control the dust in confined spaces, In addition to the above matter there might be some equipments which are sensitive to dust,as a result of that the dust caused by grinders, shot blast or cleaning shall be under control. The most efficient way to control the dust is to use dust vacuum which will suck the dust to a reservoir including a  filter ,the air will be released after passing through the filter. You can see a dust control machine in the photograph below.

Introduction to epoxy floor hardener

In many industrial projects and factories the concrete as a finishing surface is not recommended because of the weakness of the concrete against oils, acids and… in addition the concrete may produce dust while cleaning. In such situations a floor hardener not only can protect the surface of concrete rather can expose a better view by choosing a desirable color. There are many factories producing epoxy floor hardeners but the procedure to apply the floor hardener on the floor is almost same and are as several steps as below

  • shot blast : to make a rough surface on the concrete for better bonding between the primer and concrete
  • Epoxy: special kind of glue to make a good bonding between the mortar and primer
  • Mortar:  Usually it is a mixture of fine sand and epoxy
  • Scratch coat: Its a layer to protect mortar against strokes or abrasion and also to fill the porous mortar
  • Top coat: The final color  layer (usually in 2 steps)

You can see all these steps in the photos taken while doing a floor hardener mock up .These photographs also include the testing of the floor hardener.( Strike test and tension test)
